Bloom Box - Tomatoes
What is a Bloom Box?
Bloom boxes are a one-time purchase giving the at home farmer the opportunity to cultivate a small or large diverse garden with little stress.
Reduce and Reuse!
Still have your handmade, wooden harvesting container from last year? This season, we have included to option to request that we prepare your Bloom Box without including the wooden container giving you the opportunity to reuse yours!
Wondering What You'll Get?
Our Tomato Bloom Box is the same size as our Small Bloom Box: a 10" x 10" plastic plant tray filled with nine 3" pots of a predetermined mix of heirloom and cherry tomatoes. For 2024 this mix includes: Pink Brandywine (2), Carbon (2), Pineapple, Aussie, Supersweet 100, Black Cherry, and Yellow Pear.
At the start of the 2020 season, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we developed a new program of touch-free pickup and home delivery services. As this season of global uncertainty has progressed we have continued to tweak and update this sales channel to best meet our customers’ needs. Below you will find a list of Frequently Asked Questions we have received from customers - we hope you find our answers informative. We’ll continue to update this page as common questions about any changes come our way.
Sincerely,
David and Amanda

Wondering what you’ll get?
When we say grown local, we mean it. Our boxes are packed exclusively with what we grow on our farm: Bloom Boxes with plants grown in our greenhouses and produce boxes with fruits and vegetables hand-picked in our fields and orchards. We've provided our seasonal calendar to help with what to expect in your Harvest Box throughout the entire season. Our Fruit Box is packed with only fruits that appear on the seasonal calendar. Each box will be worth its weight and filled with fresh produce picked right here on our farm the morning you get it.
How much do you get in a small vs a large?
Our small Bloom Box contains a 10" x 10" plastic plant tray filled with nine 3" pots of salad mix and herbs - perfect for gardeners with limited space to grow! Our large Bloom Box is a 10" x 20" plastic plant tray filled with everything contained in the small Bloom Box as well as nine 3" pots of eggplant, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, and beans. All of our Bloom Box pots are 100% biodegradable and can be planted directly into your garden.
Our large Harvest Box is 10" x 20.5" x 13.25", and our Small is 12" x 18.25" x 7". Both will be filled with enough of our in-season local produce to make it a great value for you, our customer.
What's a "full season"?
Our Full Season Market Pass covers an entire market from start to finish: one weekly pickup, each and every week. Since each market has a different start and end date the price of a full season will vary.
What's "peak season"?
Our Peak Season pass is a shorter, 12-week window that starts the week of July 11th and end October 16th
[Season Passes] What if you're gone one week?
No problem! Just email us at info@kimball.farm by midnight, two days before the pickup date, and we can shift that box to a different week. Or better yet, offer your box to a friend! It's like having season tickets to Fenway, but with fresh fruits and vegetables instead.
[Season Passes] What happens if you forget to pickup one week?
We pride ourselves on only picking what we sell on the day that it's sold. Any season pass boxes that are left at closing time are donated to the local food bank. Unfortunately there are no refunds for forgotten boxes, but feel good that your box will not go to waste.
[Season Passes] What happens if you want to cancel?
No worries! This is not a CSA; you're not bound to the entire season if you realize that it's not working for you. Just email or call and we'll simply refund the remaining balance on your order. We just ask for at least a 48 hour notice before the next pickup to avoid letting that last box go to waste. Please be sure to let us know if there's a way that we could improve your experience. We'll be sad to see you go! Just email us at info@kimball.farm.
Is the stand still going to be open?
Yes! We'll still be open to the general public during our normal operating hours. All of our produce and local products will be available for individual sale as they have been in the past. For your convenience, we have curbside pickup. Call the Farm Stand at 978-433-9751 to place your order 2 hours before your pickup time. Upon arrival, simply call the Farm Stand and our staff will happily bring your order to your vehicle.
Can I still buy what I want at Farmer's Markets?
Yes! Our Farm Boxes are intended for a faster shopping experience with less contact for our customers who are concerned with COVID-19.
How much notice do you need for me to order a box for pickup?
Currently, orders are closed at midnight for markets that occur two days later. That gives us enough time to review the orders and be ready to pick them fresh the morning of the market.
Can I make changes to my Box?
At this time we cannot accommodate changes to an individual box. We are a small family farm where all of the picking and packing is done by a small group of people. Our goal is to provide great value to our boxes with items grown on our farm only. We hope you're excited to be introduced to fruits and vegetables that you wouldn't otherwise have tried! What's inside will change depending on the time of year. If you'd like to get an idea of what will be in box, head over to our Seasonal Calendar.
Will you deliver to anywhere else besides Pepperell, Hollis, Brookline, and Nashua?
At this time we cannot deliver outside of immediate area. That may change during the summer though! If you'd like to request that we consider your area, please email us at contact@kimballfruitfarm.store.
**Bloom Boxes are stand pickup ONLY**
What comes in my produce box?
That depends on the week! Our boxes contain only produce that we grow right here on our farm. That means, you'll be eating seasonally! The display pictures are examples of produce and fruits we grow throughout the growing season. Head over to our Seasonal Calendar to get an idea of what might be inside.
How much do I get in a produce box?
How much you get depends on what time of the season it is. We want to make sure each box is filled with its fair share in value. If you have feedback, let us know!
Can I setup recurring orders for my box?
Yes you can! We've created "Season Passes" as a simple way to get fresh produce, picked and packed for you on a weekly basis. Head on over to our Season Pass page to learn more.
Do you accept SNAP?
Yes! We accept SNAP at our farm stand and farmers markets. For our Harvest Boxes, please call our Farm Stand at 978-433-9751 to pre-order.
This is good! But I have feedback...
That's great! We're trying a lot of new things, and we would love to hear from you. Please email us at info@kimball.farm.
