To Our Loyal Customers
To Our Loyal Customers; Kimball Fruit Farm has been owned and operated by the Hills family and its relatives since 1928. We, Carl and Marie Hills have been at the helm since 1990 and are officially announcing our retirement and sale of Kimball Fruit Farm today at 4:00pm. As Carl says “farming is a young persons job!” We want to thank all of you for years of loyalty and friendship. Many of you have been customers for generations. That is amazing and we are grateful to all of you. We have forged relationships with many outstanding chefs and have learned from them as well.
We want to thank our stand manager, Debbie Wilson for years of hard work and dedication. Debbie has done so much to grow our farm stand, to help make the harvest boxes successful, and keep us in compliance with FSMA along with so many other things. We also want to thank Wendy Hills-Longland who worked with us for years in the stand, the greenhouses and many years of farmers markets. Spoiler alert, Wendy will continue doing markets under the new ownership!
The exciting news is Kimball Fruit Farm has been bought by 2 of our employees, David and Amanda Wadleigh. You will hear from them soon. David has been working with us since he was 14 and Amanda joined us 2 years ago. The other exciting news is Carl will continue to work on the farm with David during the transition. He will continue to do the farming he loves and ease into retirement slowly. Marie will also help with the transition.
We ask that you continue to support this local farm and encourage David and Amanda in their new venture at the helm of Kimball Fruit Farm. We are excited to witness the next phase of this amazing farm!
With much respect and gratitude, Carl and Marie Hills
